Girls U16 & U18:
Training sessions for all girls from Year 10 upwards will take place on the Footes Lane pitch on Thursday evenings from 17.00-18.30. The first session is on Thursday 15 September 2016.
Competitive matches will be played in the form of 7 a-side and 11 a-side matches. An U16 Girls team will play in the Ladies League with fixtures being mainly at the weekends.
Coaches will monitor player development and will endeavour to place girls into senior Ladies teams when the individuals are ready and expressing an interest to play at this level. Additionally, in conjunction with the Director of Ladies Hockey and the Island Ladies Coaches, where appropriate, girls will be invited via their age group coaches to attend ladies training on Tuesday evenings from 19.00-20.30 on the FL pitch.
After Xmas the U18 girls may continue to attend the Thursday after school training but we do understand that with their school commitments they may wish to attend the Island ladies training only, especially if they are trialing for a place in one of the Senior inter insular squads.
In addition to local competition we are trying to arrange a fixture or tournament against Jersey for each PwC U14 and U16 group as well as some competition in the UK. For the U16 groups we are hoping to once again take part in the respective girls or boys England Hockey U16 National Championships and for the U14 groups we are endeavouring to set up a weekend away to play age group competitive matches.
