Junior Development
Welcome to the Guernsey Hockey Junior Development pages.
The Junior Hockey Development Programme currently has four development programmes running:
- Sunday Morning Training
- PWC School of Excellence
- CooperBrouard Outreach Program
- Praxis Super Leagues
The Sunday Morning Programme is open to every junior from the age of 5 to 15. This is primarily a relaxed form of training that is aimed at developing the skills and fitness of the junior players. The School of excellence is designed for those juniors who show enormous potential and are likely to be or become members of junior island representative teams, whilst the Outreach Programme is designed to increase the exposure within primary and secondary schools across the island. The Super Leagues are designed to give the Under 13 & Under 15 a chance to have competitive hockey on a weekly basis.
All training sessions are run by professionally trained coaches that have met both the England Hockey and Guernsey Hockey training standards to operate as a coach.
