New Vacancy - Director of Ladies Hockey

Guernsey Hockey LBG has created a new position. The Director of Ladies Hockey will add the much needed link with the Ladies Teams and the Board. The successful applicant will represent the Ladies Teams at the Board Meetings and as a Director be directly involved in the decision making process.

Unwantables 2 do the double

Coreix Unwantables 2 won the double over the weekend by firstly beating Elizabethans 5 - 4 in the Plate Final on Saturday and then securing the league title with a 4 - 3 victory of G.W.H.A. In both matches Unwantables came back from a two goal deficit to win by a single goal. Captain Andy Roberts said “We always new these matches would be tough but we ground out the results”.

The Division 1 Cup final has now been moved to coincide with the Upton on 26th April. This will be between Deloitte EC 1st XI and Cenkos Yobbos 1. Coreix Unwantables 1 opposition in the Upton has yet to be decided as two teams are vying for the Jersey Division 1 title.

Approcved Personnel Panthers have won the Investec Ladies League Division 1 title after a 3 - 1 victory over Ship & Crown Puffins in the Division 1 Play-off.

15 years in the waiting

After 15 years Coreix Unwantables 1 have won the Investec Men’s League Division 1.

Unwantables went into their final match on Saturday against Brewin Dolphin Mavericks 1, in the knowledge that they had already secured the title as their two championship rivals Investec Colombians and Cenkos Yobbos 1 had drawn earlier in the day. This meant that neither could overcome Unwantables lead at the top of the Division.

Panthers force a Play-Off

Appoved Personnel Panthers beat Ship & Crown Puffins on Saturday to force a Play-Off in the Investec Ladies League Division 1.

Panthers needed to win to draw level on points with Puffins. With a 3 - 1 victory they succeeded in doing so and have forced a play-off. This match will be arranged shortly.

In the other match Brewin Dolphins beat Redbridge Vixens 12 - 1 with Becky Hubbard scoring 6, to take her to the top of the Ladies League scrorers table.

Inter-Insular Selection

The Senior Inter-Insular matches are in Jersey this year on the 29th March. We shall be sending six Men’s teams and three Ladies.

The Men’s 1st, 2nd & 6th XIs will be selected by their coach and Captains respectively. The 3rd, 4th & Vets will be selected by a panel in conjunction with the Captains of each side.

The Ladies process follows a similar format but has been under way for some time.

Should you wish to put your name forward to be included in the selection process you need to make sure that you get your Club team Captain to put your name forward to the Inter-Insular Secretary by no later than Monday 25th January.
