Guernsey take on Sutton Coldfield in the quarter finals of the EH Trophy this Saturday at Footes Lane.

Push back is 1745 and of course the bar will be open and food available.

Unwantables’ Carl Tanguy Climbing Kilimanjaro for the Wessex Cancer Trust

Message from Carl…

As some of you know I am climbing Kilimanjaro with three others in February and we have decided to take this opportunity to raise money for charity. The climb is being funded by the climbers so all monies raised will be split equally between 5 local charities, the Wessex Cancer Trust Is my chosen charity.
We have all been training hard over the last few weeks and to help keep the motivation high I would like to ask if you would be willing to make a small donation. With this in mind I have taken the liberty of attaching a link to the Virgin Money Giving site that we have set up, where you can see all of the information about our trip.

EH Trophy: Guernsey vs. Purley Walcountians Sat 19th November 7.30pm REMINDER!

Guernsey Men’s 1st team have drawn Purley Walcountians at home in the next round of the EH Trophy and we have negotiated for the game to be played at home on Saturday 19th November, push back at 7.30pm

The bar will of course be open and chilli, soup and French bread will be available. The proceeds of which will go to help the 1st team’s costs in getting Purley over to Guernsey as we have to pay for their travel.

Please spread the word to get as many people down to the pitch as possible to cheer on the Mighty Greens, will be a great night with some quality hockey!

EH Trophy: Henley 0 - Guernsey 4

GUERNSEY are keeping their fingers crossed that their next opponents are willing to travel after a convincing win at Henley in the first round of the EH hockey Trophy.

Goals from skipper Matt Watson (two), Andy Whalley and young Josh Kendal earned the Greens a deserved win, which built on their performances in the Four Islands Tournament earlier in the season.

Whalley, the player-coach, was delighted, especially with excellent debuts from Ben Cormack, Drew Clark, Zak Damarell, Andy Le Page and Sam Dawes.

‘We have real strength in depth now, and with additional players pushing for places in the squad, selection will be tougher than ever for the next round game,’ he said.
