Guernsey won the HA Trophy on Saturday with a spiritual display. Although they started nervously Guernsey then relaxed and started to dominate possesion.
Despite the opposition Henley HC taking the lead with an early strike the Greens did not panic and were soon rewarded with a thumping strike from Man of the match Damien Wallen.
Guernsey then took the lead with a deft touch from marathon man Adam Kitching to take the lead. Henley then levelled with a well executed short corner before Ben Allberry scored the first of his two goals.
The first being from a one on one with the keeper and the second from a penalty flick.
The Guernsey supporters were then left with a nervous finish when 10 minutes from time they were reduced to 10 men and Henley converted a penalty flick. Despite the late pressure from Henley, Guernsey held on to secure the victory.
Guernsey Hockey would like to say thanks to all the supporters who attended not only to the final but the previous rounds as the players appreciated the excellent support they have received.
