At the U15 and U17 Inter Insular matches selection will take place to form a Channel Islands squad who will attend the Regional age group tournaments organised by West Hockey, known as the All County Tournaments. These are usually held in the UK in March or April. At this tournament the Channel Islands squad will play against other County teams affiliated to West Hockey such as Devon, Cornwall, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Avon, Somerset and Dorset.

Selectors at the All County tournaments invite players to attend Junior Regional Performance Centres to take part in the Tier 1 training sessions which take place during the Summer. 11 Guernsey boys were selected for JRPC - well done to them, a great achievement. The JRPC is the first step on the England Hockey player pathway selection process. This Summer the Guernsey boys attended JRPC sessions at the Eastleigh Centre. After five sessions a squad of players at each age group is selected to play in a competition against two other JRPC centres - Eastleigh will play their Cluster competition against squads from Bristol and Exeter. At this Tier 1 competition selection will take place for Tier 2: High Performance Training Centre (HiPAC) or for the regional squad, the Wessex Leopards, who will play against three other regions at the Futures Cup.

The Futures Cup is a National competition. England Selectors are present and make selection for the National Age Group Squads. Currently Guernsey have one representative playing in the Boys U18 England Squad.
