Easter Festival
The 2010 Guernsey Easter Hockey Festival promises to be a cracker. Easter this year, falls at the beginning of April which bodes well for the weather, but we’re once again putting on a host of fantastic events which, combined with a high standard of hockey, will ensure that it is sure to be an Easter to remember. Running this year from Thursday 1st April to Sunday 4th April 2010, the format of the festival will ensure a good standard of hockey combined with lots of off pitch activity - playing, drinking, dancing, and generally making merry.
We hope to once again include all teams in to the event, but the format will depend on the number and type of teams. There will be a men’s and either a mixed or ladies tournament depending on the interest, so please get in touch with your requirements and we’ll endeavour to accommodate you. Due to generous sponsorship provided by local companies and the States of Guernsey, we have once again, been able to keep costs to a minimum. We have also secured some great discounts at local hotels to ensure you are enticed to Guernsey.
You’ll arrive on the Thursday night (yes Outlanders that’s Thursday - not Friday afternoon!) check in to your hotels and head to a welcome event (venue TBC). Then, nursing your celebratory head, it’s straight to the pitch on Friday for a civilised 10am start. There is a clubhouse next to one of the pitches which will cater to all of your thirst requirements and we’ll be putting on food throughout the event so all you need to do is just bring money! On Friday night there’s a party in the marquee at the clubhouse with a band, followed by a day of premium hockey on the Saturday. On Saturday night we all head in to town for yet more merry making. Sunday is finals day and the night of our culminating fancy dress event - the them to be confirmed at a later date- we’ll leave it to you to be as creative as possible. There’ll be a prize giving and a light ale or two as well as live bands and general debauchery! We will keep entry costs very low again this year to entice you to the sparkly isle: These will be confirmed shortly. We are really looking forward to seeing you all again and welcoming new faces in April. We’re hoping that 2010 is going to be the biggest festival and certainly the best, so get booking. The entry cost for a team this season will be £200 for overseas teams and £250 for local teams.
